A week of notable catches on the Specimen Lake was order of the day at Town Parks Fishery this week.

Dave Osmond returned to fishing after a short break in fine style. Within 20 minutes of setting up on peg 6 Osmond banked a superb Platinum Koi which tipped the scales at 25lbs 3oz! This was the second time the fish had fallen for Osmond’s bait, last year it weighed in at 23lbs 5oz!

Dave Osmond banked this beautifully coloured Platinum Koi at Town Parks Fishery. The fish tipped the scales at 25lbs 3oz and fell to Osmonds bait within 20 minutes of arriving!

Local rod Brett Baldwin fished over night on peg 8 and banked three fish.
Baldwin’s best a fine Mirror of 23lbs 8oz, another Mirror of 16lbs 1oz and a Catfish which all fell to a home made wafter.

Plymouth rod Simon Jones had an exciting start to his session from peg 14 hooking into two fish simultaneously within minutes of arrival! Jones managed to bring both fish to the same net and weighed them at 22lbs 2oz and 19lbs 8oz! Both fish fell to Cell boilies cast towards rising bubbles in front of the peg. To finish off an excellent day a superb Tench of 8lbs 8oz fell to the same bait!

Peter Marriot also fished Cell boilies in the shallower water in front of peg 6 and was rewarded with a fine Common of 23lbs 2oz!

Peter Marriott fished a Cell boilie from peg 6 at Town Parks Fishery and was rewarded with this fine Common Carp of 23lbs 2oz.

Plenty of Catfish came to the bank especially after the air temperature dropped early in the week. The best reported was 24lbs 7oz taken on luncheon meat from peg 12.
The larger fish seem to be moving more this week probably feeding up ready for the approaching colder months!

On the top Match Lake fishing continued to be very good with some excellent catches reported.

Dam wall pegs produced multiple catches of Carp with some anglers taking 20 to 30 fish per session mainly on pellet waggler.

Silvers came to maggot and castor offered up in the water from most pegs.
Bream were continually on the feed in the deeper water around pegs 18 to 2.

One notable catch from an unnamed angler was a beautifully coloured orange koi of around 5lbs which fell to a pellet offered mid water.
