Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 1st April

With the unseasonably warm weather continuing excellent catches have been reported from both lakes at Town Parks Fishery this week.

On the lower Specimen Lake regular Bob Ineson had one of his best ever sessions from peg 1. Fishing a white chocolate boilie towards the main island Ineson hocked nine fish!  Best of the bunch a fine fully scaled platinum koi which was in excellent condition and tipped the scales at 22lbs 2oz.

Ineson’s session also saw a heavy grade hook being fished for Catfish straightened and snapped.

Over on peg 7, first timer Mark Sturdy honed his skills learnt on the Match Lake.
Shortly after dawn Sturdy banked a nice common of 14lbs 1oz this was quickly followed by a fine mirror of just under 20lbs! Both fish fell to small bloodworm boilies offered tight in the margins and near the waterfall.

Regular Match fishermen Mark Sturdy fished his first Carp session on the Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery. Sturdy was rewarded with two Carp, the best this Mirror of just under 20lbs.

Earlier in the week local rod Aaron Warner fished the same peg this time using homemade boilies. During the early hours Warner’s alarms screamed off and after a battle of over 40 minutes a fine Catfish of 27lbs 2oz came to the net.

Aaron Warner chose peg 7 at Town Parks Fishery to test his new homemade bait and was rewarded with this fine Catfish of 27lbs 1oz

On the adjacent peg Aarons dad Graham banked two nice Commons using the same bait.

Dave Osmond had success during a couple of stalking sessions taking Carp, mainly from the margins to the 20lbs mark.

Regular Jack Roberts fished a three and a half hour float session from peg 6. Fishing double maggot he eventually netted 58lbs 4oz of Rudd!

On the top Match Lake, sport has been excellent with large bags of Silvers to the 90lbs mark commonplace. Carp have also shown in numbers with 10-12 fish per session coming to pellet. Bream have continued to show particularly in front of peg 3 where fish to 5lbs were reported falling for corn.
