Silvers continued to produce excellent sport for anglers at Town Parks Fishery this week.
Both lakes saw anglers taking very good bags of Roach, Rudd and Skimmers particularly during dawn and dusk sessions.
The top Match Lake dam wall pegs fished especially well with most anglers reporting continuous sport. Large bags to the 80lbs mark were taken with fish feeding freely up in the water. Carp fell to pellet offered up in the water when they were not basking in the unseasonal sunshine.
Once again early and late sessions saw the bulk of the action.
Rick Southwood arrived at dawn and fished peg 17 for the morning.
Casting pellet mid water towards the bar Southwood reported 15 Carp coming to the bank, the best a fine 12lbs 4oz!
The lower Specimen Lake also saw good fish coming to the bank.
Plymouth rod Bruce Julian fished popped up corn towards the small island in front of peg 5 eventually banking 7 Carp, the best 19lbs 8oz. Julian also lost a couple of good fish at the net!
Catfish have continued to feed around most pegs especially the deeper water areas between pegs 10 and 16.
Exeter rod Rob Price fished overnight from peg 1 with maggot and was rewarded with a nice Mirror of 19lbs 8oz.
During the Easter school holidays the Fishery is running its very popular Tuition sessions. These are aimed at children and beginners and cover a range of fishing skills.
The sessions take place every Tuesday and Thursday morning between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm. All tackle, bait etc is included.
