A week of good catches this week at Town Parks Fishery despite the changeable weather.
Brixham rod Pete Lake fished an overnighter on the Specimen Lake and banked his Town Parks personal best Common Carp of 22lbs 1oz. Lake’s fish fell to a Japanese squid boilie offered from peg 16 to the central bar.
Jim Cordy visited peg 5 hoping to catch his first Catfish. Cordy was not disappointed when he banked a fine 19lbs 8oz example. The fish fell to a large chunk of curry flavoured luncheon meat offered mid water.
Harry Laity took a good condition Common of 16lb 8oz on a Mainline Cell boilie from peg 12 whilst Helston rod Steve Pendleton banked a 19lb 8oz Common as he was setting up on peg 10. Pendleton’s fish fell to a large halibut pellet accompanied with a spicy tuna boilie!
The fish remain wary of baits with many anglers reporting good runs but the fish realising the bait once any pressure is applied!
On the top Match Lake good bags continued to be taken.
Carp were taken in numbers from the dam wall pegs on coarse pellet whilst Silvers and Bream were still feeding quite heavily from most pegs.
A group of students from Paignton College had a hectic tutored session despite the atrocious conditions with everyone taking plenty of Roach and Rudd with some touching the 1lb 8oz mark.
One student finished the session by taking a large Carp which unfortunately broke free at the net!
Generally the fishing has picked up this week but anglers who use their watercraft will get the better catches!
