Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 27/4

Plenty of action was reported from both Lakes at Town Parks Fishery this week. The Specimen Lake in particular provided great sport even with the varying weather conditions!

Peg 3 saw regular Dan Cummings fishing for Catfish and his tactics proved very effective.
Fishing a large 35mm “donkey choker” boilie below a 30mm flouro pop up tempted six Cats, all large doubles to 30lbs 2oz!

Town Parks Regular Gordon Batt caught this Mirror Carp form peg 6 at Town Parks Fishery. The fish took a Cell boilie and, judging by the size of it’s head will continue to feed up to become a specimen sized fish!

On peg 11 Plymouth rod Matt Conway had a frantic session taking 9 fish and breaking his personal best twice! Three Catfish to 28lbs 3oz and 5 Carp to 20lbs 1oz hit the net! 185lbs of fish!! Starbaits Coconut boilies accounted for all the catches!

On peg 10 Neil Harris from Somerset was overjoyed when he banked his very first Catfish, a good fish of 26lb 4oz which took a slug.

Fishing his first session of the year John Lye started in style when he hooked into, and landed a lovely Mirror Carp of 24lbs 3oz!

Town Parks Regular Gordon “Gorby” Batt fished from peg 6 banking several fish including this lovely Leather Carp of 19lbs 7oz!

John Green fished alongside Luke Neighbour in pegs 15 and 16 and both took good fish.
Neighbour netted his first Catfish of 18lbs 4oz followed by a Common Carp of 18lbs 3oz while Green took a fine Common Carp of 21lbs 7oz! Cell boilies offered in the margins proved effective!

Once again Gordon “Gorby” Batt fished from peg 6 and continued his recent successful run!
Having lost several fish at the net he eventually netted a beautifully scaled Mirror of 19lbs 2oz which fell for a pop up offered near the blue rope!

Local rod Gordon Batt banked 9 Carp from peg 6 at Town Parks Fishery including this superb Common of 23lbs 1oz. The fish seized his plum pop up from under the overhanging branches adjacent to the peg.

The top Match Lake also provided great sport. Carp fed well from most pegs.

Rod Metcalfe made several short visits to the dam wall and took up to 18 Carp per session.
Coarse pellet offered around the four foot deep mark tempted the fish.

Town Parks Fishery regular Rod Metcalfe fished from peg 7 on the Specimen Lake for three hours and netted this fine bag of Silvers. The fish fell to dead red maggot offered up in the water.

Simon Hern fished a twilight session form peg 3 and took 9 Carp in a short space of time from the main island.

Silvers showed in numbers with bags to the 50lbs mark reported.
