Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 12/8

The continued hot weather saw anglers using different tactics to bank fish at Town Parks Fishery this week.

During the day fish continued to sunbathe with anglers floating bread or biscuit towards unsuspecting fish. As evening came, stalking worked well with several anglers reporting multiple catches from under and around overhanging bushes and trees.

During the night time hours baits fished on the bottom faired best with some decent fish coming to the scales.

On the Specimen Lake, Catfish came to the bank in numbers with up to nine fish reported in a single session.

Dave Todd had a good session on peg 8 taking a good Cat of 25lbs 3oz taken on CC Moores live system.

Les Hutchings banked his first 20lbs + Carp taking a lovely Mirror from peg 11. Hutchings also took a 16lbs 1oz Common and a small Cat loosing a very large specimen Cat which ran down the bank towards shallower water before snapping off!

Jack Oakden has a shock whilst pole fishing for Bream from peg 1. After a few hours of banking good sized Bream, Oakdens Castor was snapped up by a Carp which ran him in all directions stretching his 8lbs elastic to its limits. After a 40 minute battle Oakden banked a lovely 16lbs 1oz Mirror – pretty remarkable as he was only fishing a one and a half pound hooklink!!

Torquay rod Gordon Batt choose peg 6 and was rewarded with a fine Tench of 9lbs 1oz and a Common of 19lbs 6oz! Both fish fell to maggot.

Kelsy Batt fished alongside dad Gordon taking a good bag of Roach on a whip and landing a fine Tench of 5lbs 3oz which had fallen to a Cell boilie offered mid water!

Little Kelsey Batt fished with dad Gordon from peg 6 at Town Parks Fishery. After taking a good bag of Silvers she played and landed this fine Tench which had fallen for a Cell boilie offered mid water. The fish tipped the scales at 5lbs 3oz.

The top Match Lake continued to provide lively sport for most anglers.

Silvers fell to Castor or Maggot offered shallow whilst the Bream took Corn and luncheon meat.

Carp came to pellet with holiday maker Jim Ryan reporting 35 fish to the 8lbs mark during an early evening session!

Regulars Conor Nettleton and Dan Boland fished two dam wall pegs and banked 62 Carp during a 24hr session. All the fish fell to pellet offered on the bottom.
