Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 26/2

With warmer weather the Carp came onto the feed in dramatic fashion at Town Parks Fishery.

The Specimen Lake saw many anglers taking multiple fish during both day and night sessions.

Barnstaple rod Rob Jewell visited the Fishery for the first time and banked eight fish from peg 10. Cell boilies, fished towards the main island resulted in fish regularly coming to the bank during his session. Jewell’s best fish a fine Common of 22lbs 8oz!

Ashburton angler Jeff Weller chose peg 1 for his 24hr visit. Lightly baiting his swim Weller took five fish to 19lbs 2oz and also dropped three fish on the run!

Irish cream boilies accounted for most of his haul!

Ashburton rod Jeff Weller visited peg 1 at Town Parks Fishery and enjoyed a good session banking five fish to 19lbs 2oz. This Mirror weighed 18lbs 3oz and fell to an Irish cream boilie!

Mark Warren fished from peg 2 and banked six fish including a personal best 23lbs 8oz! All the fish came from the same rod with a cell boilie which was fished by the “duck run” on the main island.

Mark Weller visited peg 2 at Town Parks Fishery and had an excellent session banking six fish including his personal best 23lbs 8oz. This Common tipped the scales at 22lbs 1oz and fell to a Cell boilie offered towards the main island.

 Dave Osmond ended a lean spell taking four Carp over twenty pounds in a single overnight session! Osmond’s best was a Common of 24lbs 4oz and this was followed by fish of 23lbs 1oz, 22lbs 4oz and 22lbs 2oz! All the fish were taken from the shallows of peg 6 and fell to red maggot offered on a medusa rig! Osmond also lost the first Catfish of the year at the net! The fish estimated in the twenty’s fell to maggot.

Dave Osmond bounced back after a lean spell and banked four twenty pound plus fish during and overnight session at Town Parks Fishery. This Common weighed 22lbs 4oz and fell to maggot. Osmonds best was 24lbs 4oz.

 It is good to see the Cats moving again, with the water temperature around 11 degrees and warmer weather forecast more fish should be waking up over the next few days!!

The top Match Lake also saw good bags taken.

Carp were not feeding a vigorously as the lower lake although some good fish came to the bank.

Rod Metcalf made a couple of short visits taking large Carp each time. Metcalf fished a coarse pellet up in the water from various pegs.

Bream are now showing in numbers falling to corn and caster.

Roach and Rudd are feeding well up in the water with some medium bags taken on maggot or caster from most pegs!

As the water temperature continues to rise goods catches are expected to continue.
