Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 30/10

Well, the recent rain certainly livened up the fishing this week!

The top match lake produced good bags of silvers most of which fell to maggot or pellet. All pegs produced fish, which was a bonus for the training course which was well attended on Monday morning.

Nine year old Lee Rice Kelly fished peg 7, and was pleasantly surprised to find a 5lb common carp on the end of his line, not as surprised as Lee Wright, however, who landed a pristine common of nearly 16lbs from peg 18 on the dam wall. The monster fell to a single grain of sweetcorn.

The specimen lake also had its share of activity.

Dave Tozer fished a boilie from peg 9 to land a well conditioned mirror of 14lbs, while on peg 10, Dave Madge succeeded in landing two catfish of 21lbs and 10lbs, both of which fell to worm, as did the 23.7 common which finished off a memorable session.

Thirteen year old Connor Pendleton fished peg 9 earlier in the week and took three commons of 15lb, 10lb and 16lb, all tempted by a corn and worm combination. Connor also lost one fish, a common, which was reported to be around the 33lb mark!

Steve Pendleton also fished peg 10 earlier in the week and captured a 22.5lb mirror which took a worm and Japanese Squid combination offered on a 4’' hooklink.

Peg 1 saw Dan Page capture a 13.5lbs mirror, and after a move to peg 12, he also landed a 14.4 common and a 14.10 mirror all on Japanese Squid snowman rigs.

With milder temperatures and some rain expected in the coming week, both lakes are expected to produce good sport for any anglers attending.
