Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 8/5

A fine bag of 9 Carp falling to regular Dave Osmond was the highlight of the week at Town Parks Fishery.
Osmond’s haul from peg 6 on the Specimen Lake included five 20lb plus fish the best a fine Common which tipped the scales at 27lbs 8oz!
Cell boilies offered mid water or cast tight to the small island produced the goods!

Regular Dave Osmond banked this fine 27lbs 8oz Common Carp, from peg 6 at Town Parks Fishery, The fish fell to Cell boilies fished to the front of the peg and was one of 9 Carp, five over 20lbs!

Big Catfish have been moving around the lake, three anglers having their hooks snapped or straightened as the fish fought to snap off. One Catfish hooked in the shallows around peg 5 was estimated to be in the 50lb class by the crowd that had gathered but the hook snapped just as the fish was being netted!

Leicester rod Josh Greene visited peg 14 for a 24hr session and was quickly into the fish banking three Carp to 20lbs 4oz within 2 hours! Greene took 7 fish including a good Catfish of 25lbs 6oz most falling to luncheon meat.

On the top Match Lake fishing picked up after the recent spawning. Plenty of Silvers came to the bank as did Skimmers and large Bream.
Carp continued to show especially along the dam wall where Rod Metcalf once again showed everyone how to do it taking 18 Carp to 12lbs in 3 hours.
Coarse pellet fished shallow proving very effective!
