Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 27/3

Water temperatures approaching 16 degrees helped to get the fish on the feed at Town Parks Fishery this week.

The Specimen Lake saw plenty of action as Catfish continued to be banked in numbers. Best Cat of the week went to Simon Jones with a fine 26lbs 4oz specimen which fell to luncheon meat offered in the margins of peg 12.

A rush of 20lb plus fish came to the bank with many anglers taking their first Catfish!

Regular Town Parks Fishery angler Roger Bulley banked this superb 24lbs 1oz Mirror Carp from peg 9. The fish fell to a pineapple boilie offered midwater.

Carp were also feeding well with most anglers connecting with fish.
Once again Dave Osmond was in the thick of the action taking numerous large Carp to the upper 20’s.

Town Parks Fishery’s Dave Osmond continued his run of 20lbs plus fish with this fine Mirror Carp. The fish, one of the Fishery’s 350 double figure Carp fell to red maggot offered in the margins of peg 6.

Regular Andy Webster fished peg 12 for an overnighter and took a single Cat and two Mirrors, the best 21lbs 2oz.

Paignton rod Bob Ineson visited peg 1 and took a Common of 16lbs 2oz and also lost a huge Cat which ran to the deeper water then parted Ineson’s 20lb briad! Luncheon meat proved effective.

Carp have been seen in numbers basking on the surface – several fell to floaters offered close by!

The top Match Lake also fished very well with some excellent bags taken.
The fish tended to go on and off the feed during the day with quieter periods around lunchtime giving way to frantic fishing into the early evening. Colin Robbins fished peg 10 and struggled until late afternoon when suddenly the fish came back on the feed and he eventually took 13 Carp to 9lbs 8oz!

Carp fed well along the dam wall with multiple catches reported by several anglers. Numerous Ghost Carp came to the bank the best a nice 9lbs 4oz example which fell for corn offered by Graham King from peg 5.

Large Silvers continued to come to the bank with Roach, Rudd and Skimmers falling to maggot and caster.
