A week of changeable weather conditions provided testing fishing conditions at Town Parks Fishery this week.
The upper Match Lake saw anglers banking small to medium mixed bags although these were hard fought for on some days! Richard Connors fished the pole from peg 15 and took a mixed bag which included Roach, some nice Bream to the 4lb mark and also a couple of Carp, the best a 5lbs 6oz Mirror.
Dan Squire fished an early morning session taking 6 Carp to 4lbs 3oz before daybreak on Sensus white Carp pellet! As soon as the sun rose the fish went off the feed! Unusually for this time of the year the fish were all taken from around the three foot deep mark!
Nigel Cox fished peg 1, which he had not fished before and took 5 Carp to 5lbs 8oz on coarse pellet offered mid water on the bottom.
The lower lake saw James Hubble and Ian Ross continue to perfect pegs 9 and 10 with great success. Ross banked 6 Carp, the best a 19lbs 8oz and Hubble took 2 to 18lbs 9oz!
The charity match in aid of Devon Air Ambulance was very well attended and the eventual winner was Guy Bennett who won prizes worth over £100!
This Sunday sees the top lake match, again in aid of D.A.A.T., being held. The draw is at 7.45 am with fishing from 8.15 until 4.15.
