Catches continued on both Lakes at Town Parks Fishery this
week. The Specimen Lake produced some great sport with anglers taking fish from
most pegs.
Wayne Hockley fished from peg 5 and hit into a fine Catfish which
proved to be his personal best at 30lbs 1oz! Hockley has managed to bank a
Catfish on each of his visits so far this year! The fish fell to a Banoffee
boilie tipped with a hi vis pop up and offered towards the central bar!
Fishing partner Scott Bryant wasn’t left empty handed as he
banked four Carp to 16lbs 2oz from peg 4 all of which fell to homemade garlic
boilies!
Andy Handshaw took a nice Cat of 21lbs 2oz and was also
snapped off by a “very large Cat” despite “beefing” up his tackle after losing fish
last week!
Jim Tippler also banked a Catfish of 15lbs 5oz from peg 12
during a short session of margin fishing! Tipler fished a piece of pop up foam
soaked in Korda Goo.
Fishing a short session from peg 12 on the Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery local rod Jim Tipplers foam soaked in Korda Goo was seized by this Catfish! |
Alec Jones banked his first Catfish from peg 16 and was
overjoyed when the scales hit 24lbs 3oz! The fish fell to a Cell boilie offered
in the margins.
Perry Northeast chose peg 16 for an overnighter and was
rewarded with a beautiful Common Koi of 21lbs 2oz which took a Cell boilie.
Local rod Perry Northeast fished a Cell boilie from peg 16 at Town Parks Fishery and banked this beautifully coloured Common Koi which tipped the scales at 21lbs 2oz! |
Roddy Metcalfe took 15 Carp from the margins of peg 17 later
in the day during a short session.
Tim Slim netted a fine bag of Carp from peg 10 on 6mm pellet
whilst visitor Phil Jifford took an estimated 100lbs bag of Silvers from peg
12.
With school holidays upon us there were plenty of younger
anglers enjoying the sport. Silvers responded well to maggot offered up in the
water while Carp and Bream took pellet or small chunks of luncheon meat offered
a little deeper!
The Lake has had some more maintenance to the islands and
margins with much of the overhanging branches and bushes cut back to allow
better access for anglers baits!
