Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 8/6

Brixham rod Pete Lake achieved his long term ambition to catch a Catfish over 20lbs from the Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery. Lake fished a Cell boilie from peg 5 placing his bait in the deep bay to the left of the peg. Almost immediately the bait was taken and, after an extended battle a great Cat of 22lbs 3oz was on the bank!

Lake was overjoyed!!

Earlier in the day Gordon Batt had taken Catfish of 30lbs 6oz and 21lbs 4oz from peg 6 when the fish were feeding up in the shallows!

Nick Solomon fished overnight from 2 and took three fish, all high doubles including a brace of Cats and a Common.

Fishing for Bream from peg 4, Bob Hewitt enjoyed a frantic session taking fish to the 5lbs mark on very light gear with maggot.

Plenty of Catfish in the late teens and early twentys have been reported from most pegs with luncheon meat, worm and halibut pellet proving to be the best baits!

Jack Lord took a beautiful Ghost Common from peg 12 on a Cell boilie. The fish tipped the scales at 20lbs 5oz!

Local rod Jack Lord fished from peg 12 at Town Parks Fishery and banked this superb condition Ghost Common Carp which fell for a Cell boilie. The fish tipped the scales at 21lbs 4oz!

Many fish, too many to list individually, in the mid to late teens range have been taken using various baits although sweeter baits like banoffee, coconut, pineapple and strawberry have attracted the most interest!

Up on the Match Lake sport was also good.

Travis Heyward fished an overnighter from peg 1 and was rewarded with 15 Carp including his personal best of 9lbs 10oz! All Heywards fish fell to Mainline Hybrid offered in the reeded margins.

Carp have shown in numbers with many anglers reporting large fish feeding in the margins during the late evening as the sun drops!

Lee Hunt took plenty of large Skimmers and Roach on his top two offering pellet and maggot in the margins of peg 16.

Some very large Skimmers have been reported on both lakes this week.
