Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 23/3

Carp and Catfish remained on the feed at Town Parks Fishery despite the changeable weather conditions. The Specimen Lake provided great sport with various baits proving effective.

Conor Nettleton continued his run of superb fish banking this fine Common, one of five fish netted, which hit the scales at 22lbs 8oz!

Local rod John Connabeer fished a short session from peg 12 taking three Carp including a fine Ghost Carp of 25lbs 0oz. All Connabeer’s fish fell to Passion Baits 01 boilies with the other Carp coming in at 18lbs 2oz and 15lbs 7oz!

Peg 12 at Town Parks Fishery saw John Connabeer take three Carp during a short session including this superb Ghostie, one of several banked this week. Which weighed in at 25lbs 0oz. The fish fell to a Passion Bait 01 boilie offered in the margins.

Kingsteignton rod Dave Grylls returned to peg 2 and banked 8 Carp and a nice Tench!
Fishing Enigma boilies Grylls fish, all good doubles went to 22lbs 9oz another fine Ghostie!

Town Parks Fishery regular Dave Grylls had a great session from peg 2 banking 9 fish including this superb Ghost Carp of 22lbs 9oz!

Cornwall angler Jim Bowden netted a good Mirror of 22lbs 10oz from peg 7 which fell to Halibut Pellet.

Paignton rod Bob Ineson fished overnight from peg 11 taking 3 Catfish to 19lbs 2oz and a single Carp of 16lbs 1oz! Ineson also lost a much bigger fish, believed to be a big Cat, which ran from the margins of peg 12 up the lake and around the main island before he could strike the hook home!! Once again Halibut Pellet proved irresistible!

Torquay angler Nigel Brooks made his first visit of the season to Town Parks Fishery and hooked into this lovely Mirror Carp which tipped the scales at 22lbs 13oz!

Matt Feakes chose peg 11 and netted 3 Carp to 20lbs 0oz and a good double Catfish all on Cell boilies.

Newton Abbot rod Matt Feakes chose peg 12 at Town Parks Fishery and was rewarded with this beautifully marked Fully Scaled Carp which seized his Cell boilie.

 Meanwhile the Match Lake also fished well with some very good bags of Carp and Silvers reported.

Rod Metcalfe made several visits to the Dam Wall and took up to 15 Carp per visit fishing coarse pellet on the waggler at around the three foot mark.

Alan Jones visited peg 10 and banked 12 Carp from the margins fishing various baits!

Silvers continue to come to maggot and castor fished up in the water but with easterly winds forecast to set in this may well push the fish a little deeper.


Pupils from Exmouth College continued their fishing course fishing pegs 1 to 7. One student on his first visit banked a beautiful 5lbs 8oz Carp from peg 1 using a 4 metre whip with maggot to a size 18 hook and 2lbs 4oz hooklink!!!
