Settled weather
conditions helped anglers connect with fish at Town Parks Fishery this week.
The top Match Lake
provided good sport with Carp and silvers still feeding.
Once again Rod Metcalf
used his water craft to locate the Carp. Moving from his favourite peg 16
Metcalf fished a day from peg 10 and was rewarded with 10 Carp which fell to a
single coarse pellet fished on the bottom. The following day Metcalf returned
to peg 16 and, using the same tactics, banked 14 Carp to the 9lbs mark!
Fred Rowe fished crab
pellets in the margins of peg 14 and banked 4 Carp within a short period until
the fish went off the feed!
Silvers continued to
fall to maggot and castor offered from most pegs. The fish were difficult to find
at times as they changed depth due to the weather conditions.
On the lower Specimen
Lake the fish were moving around most pegs.
Carp were seen in the
margins, probably due to the warmer temperatures of the last couple of weeks. White
pop up’s fished mid water again accounted for several fish.
Local rod Conor Nettleton banked this superb Common Carp from peg 10 at Town Parks Fishery. The fish fell to a Cell boilie offered mid water. |
Visitor Dave Soames
fished an overnighter from peg 14 and banked two good Carp of 18lbs 3oz and
20lbs 8oz.
Once again Mark Warren
fished his usual weekly session from peg 9 and and came away with three Carp
17lbs 1oz, 16lbs 2oz and 14lbs 15oz. All Warren’s fish fell to poped up Cell
boilies.
Pete Atkins banked two
Carp from peg 10, the best 19lbs 3oz and three Carp were banked from peg 14
although the anglers left no .details of bait or names!
