Fish continued to come
to the bank due to the unseasonal warm weather of late at Town Parks Fishery.
The Specimen Lake saw
anglers banking fish especially from the deeper water pegs where the fish were
feeding quite freely.
Richard Clarkson banked
a couple of Commons to 17lbs 2oz from peg 1 whilst dropping two more sizeable
fish at the net.
Over on peg 10 Dave
Grylls also banked two Carp both of which fell to Cell boilies offered mid
water.
Many anglers reported hooking
fish after very “finicky” bites only to lose them as they came to the net!
Some good sized Bream,
Skimmers and Roach have fallen to castor and maggot offered near the bottom.
Jack Oakden took some
good mixed bags from 13 whilst Paul Winstanley did the same from various pegs
during short day sessions!
On the upper Match Lake
Rod Metcalf continued to find the Carp. During trips to pegs 16 and 10 Metcalf
took Carp on each visit taking up the 14 Carp which came to Coarse pellet
offered tight on the bottom or sweetcorn offered up in the water on a waggler. Single
baits proved the best tactic with the fish only taking corn if it had been
dipped in liquidised sweetcorn!!
Single baits also
tempted numerous Carp for anglers using their watercraft skills to locate them!
Silvers are still active
with some good bags of Roach, Rudd and Skimmers reported from deeper water
pegs.
With the forecast cooler
weather upon us the fish should continue to feed although probably in the
deeper parts of the Lakes!
