Fish continued to feed
at Town Parks Fishery as the weather turned warmer this week.
The lower Specimen Lake
saw anglers enjoying sport from several pegs as the fish moved around the Lake
looking for food. Peg 1 saw plenty of action with Carp nuzzling the margins
under the overhanging Willow tree.
Conor Nettleton enjoyed
a hectic session banking 5 Carp placing his Cell boilies where the fish were
feeding. All the fish were double figures, the best 17lbs 8oz!
The previous day
Tristian Smith banked a superb Mirror of 25lbs 4oz fishing the same area
although two artificial pieces of pop up corn tempted the fish on that
occasion!
A little further down
the Southern bank on peg 14, Kingsbridge rod Richard Clarkson fished white
chocolate boilies close to the margins. During the night Clarkson hooked three
“good size” Carp but unfortunately, to his dismay, all the fish snagged around
the old outflow tube and pulled free!
Brixham regular Andy
Handshaw fished from peg 2 using his newly acquired Nash retractable 9 ft Carp
rods. Handshaw hooked two Carp during the night and, although neither reached
the net, his rods got a good test!
On the top Match Lake
Silvers and Carp were feeding although more sporadically then of late.
Regular Rod Metcalf
continued to find the fish taking Carp or Roach on most of his visits. Corn
offered mid depth proved effective.
Silvers were
particularly “peggie” although some anglers reported small bags of decent sized
fish falling to maggot or pellet.
With warmer weather now
settled in the fish should continue to search for Winter pickings!
