TOWN PARKS FISHERY CATCH REPORT W/E 28/10/12

Fish continued to come to the bank at Town Parks Fishery despite the colder weather and first frosts of the winter.

The top Match Lake saw anglers enjoying good sport taking Carp and Silvers in numbers.

Regular Jim Morrissey continued his good run of fish taking over 100lbs of fish per day over a four day period. Morrissey cast coarse pellet from peg 3 tight to the tip of the adjacent island which proved effective with Carp feeding throughout the day.

Rod Metcalf took Carp in numbers from the dam wall casting out to mid water with pellet.

Peg 15 fished very well with most anglers fishing it taking medium to large bags of Carp.
Silvers showed and fell to maggot and castor offered fairly deep due to the colder conditions.

Jack Oakden fished a 12mt pole from peg 13 on the Specimen Lake offering single red maggots tight to the outfall pipe. Oakden immediately connected with Bream which fed well throughout his short session. All Oakdens fish were over the 1lbs 8oz mark and eventually his net weighed in at over 40lbs!

Jack Oakden fished his pole from peg 13 on the Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery and banked over 40lbs of quality Bream. The fish fell to a single red maggot offered tight to the outflow.

Carp moved freely throughout the Specimen Lake but were hesitant to feed at times, frustrating anglers who tried many different tactics!

Matty Feakes once again showed everyone how to do it banking several Carp from peg 12.
Tutti Frutti boilies proving effective!

Catfish were still moving around, and should do for the foreseeable future, with anglers reporting being snapped off after screaming runs!!!

The Fishery’s Ghost Carp competition continues until November 3rd.
The angler banking the biggest Ghost Carp will receive a £20.00 voucher.

Anglers were saddened this week with the death of popular angler and builder Colin Cook.
Cook visited Town Parks regularly and always fished his favourite peg 1.
Banking many fish over the years Cook made many friends in the angling fraternity with his happy disposition – He was always smiling! He found out he had incurable Cancer but continued to live life to the full. Refusing treatment Cook battled bravely to the end an inspiration to others!
