A
quieter week on the Lakes at Town Parks Fishery saw anglers having to use all
their skills to get the fish on the feed. The Carp were sporadically feeding
with only a few fish reported.
The
Match Lake saw half a dozen anglers reporting Carp taken from the margins
mainly on maggot or meat! Some good sized Roach were also reported with fish to
the 2lbs mark freely taking maggot once they got on the feed.
The
Specimen Lake had fish moving around most of the week although they refused to
take the many varieties of baits provided by anglers!!
The
match fishermen who chose to fish the lake for Bream and Silvers faired much
better.
Once
again Rod Metcalf lead the field taking up to 50lbs of Bream in a single
session.
Double
red maggot proved most effective. The bites were very light with fish being
hooked if the hook was pulled home the minute the tip moved!!
Other
anglers that had heard of Metcalf’s exploits also tried their hand with great
success – some reporting bags of 50lbs using the same tactics!
Once
again Christmas is upon us and the onsite shop has stocked up with gifts for
devoted anglers from tackle to clothing and fishing vouchers.
