Fishing
started to return to normal after the fish in both the Match and Specimen Lakes
spawned during the early part of the week at Town Parks Fishery.
The lower
Specimen Lake saw Catfish continue to feed throughout the spawning although the
Carp were more hesitant to feed. That said some good Carp came to the net.
On peg 6 Mark
Beilby fished his first session since a long layoff and enjoyed a hectic
session. Beilby banked 6 Carp on red Cell boilies during his overnight session.
All the fish
were good doubles with the best a fine 24lbs 2oz Common in immaculate
condition! Beilby believes he caught the same fish, a 18lbs 5oz Mirror, twice
during the night!
In peg 5
Kingsbridge rod Richard Clarkson fished mid water and netted a couple of good
Leathers, the best 15lbs 8oz.
Plymouth rod
Chris Stevens fished Luncheon meat to attract the Catfish from peg 13 and his
plan worked! Stevens took four Cats all over 20lbs the best a good 25lbs 6oz!!
On the top
Match Lake sport was a little more sporadic with the fish going on and off the
feed and from peg to peg!
Some good
Carp did hit the net but most anglers were left frustrated as the fish basked
in the sunshine!!
Silvers
continued to feed from most pegs although they also went on and off the feed!
With the
spawning now out of the way the action should pick up on both Lakes as the
weather conditions change!
