The
changeable weather conditions produced testing fishing conditions at Town Parks
Fishery this week. The fish fed sporadically with some anglers banking personal
bests whilst others sat watching them!!
On the Specimen
Lake, Catfish came to the net.
Karl Newcombe
visited the Fishery for the first time in years and netted his first Catfish, a
good specimen of 24lbs 2oz. Newcombe also banked a Carp of 16lbs 11oz which
also fell to a Cell boilie offered midwater form peg 8.
Local rod Trevor
Trebell chose peg 3 and fished his single Cell boilie towards the central bar.
Trebell
hooked into a good cat of 20lbs 1oz which he netted during the afternoon!
Paignton rod Trevor Trebell fished his Cell boilie from peg 3 at Town Parks
Fishery and hooked into this fine Catfish which tipped the scales at 20lbs
1oz. |
Scott
Richards fished for Eels from peg 14 and netted one and lost another! Richards
also netted two Carp of 18lbs 9oz and 16lbs 11oz.
Plymouth rod
Tom Purdy moved to peg 2 after a fruitless session in peg 2 and almost
immediately hooked into a 16lbs 5oz Carp!
On the Match
Lake, sport was slow at times with the Carp still showing signs of spawning at
times. With the temperature constantly changing the fish don’t seem to be able
to complete the process.
Carp did come
to the bank with several anglers fishing “overnighters”.
Nick Saint
fished from peg 10 and took six Carp which fell to homemade boilies!
Brixham rod
Dave Gorman did have a cracking evening session banking 16 Carp all of which
fell to his homemade boilies.
Roddy Metcalf
netted several fish during short visits to various pegs.
With more
settled weather forecast the fishing should improve with the fish returning to
the normal feeding pattern.
