Bitter
Easterly winds coupled with very low temperatures provided difficult fishing conditions
at Town Parks Fishery, that said, some good fish still came to the net!
On the
Specimen Lake Conor Nettleton chose peg 12 with the wind on his back to fish
the reed’s in the margins. Nettleton banked two Carp, a good Leather of 14lbs
9oz and a Common and also lost another much larger fish at the net! The Leather
fell to a Japanese Squid boilie whilst the Common took a Cell pop up!
Once again
Mark Warren found the fish taking a good
Ghostie from peg 10. Korda’s new Caramel Goo over a toffee boilie tempted the
fish.
Due to the
very unseasonal weather conditions the students from Paignton Community College
were switched to the lower Lake to stay out of the wind during their tutored
session.
It was a good
move as all the students banked Roach and Perch on maggot with some of the
Roach touching the 2lbs 8oz mark!
Meanwhile on
the top Match Lake the wind played a part with some pegs unfishable due to the
strength and windchill!
Paul
(Winston) Winstanley fished several sessions accompanied by wife Karen with
both banking Carp and very good bags of Silvers. Paul’s son Matt also came
along for his first go at the sport. After some tips from his old man, Matt
hooked into an excellent first fish, a Ghost Common of 12lbs! The fish fell to
a white pop up coated in Almond Goo!
Paul Winstanley is pictured holding son Matt’s first fish at Town Parks Fishery!
The fish took a white boilie coated in Korda Goo from peg 3 and weighed 12lbs
0oz! |
Cornwall rod
Mike Green visited peg 14 with girlfriend Sue and fished maggot close to the
reeds adjacent to the outflow. During their afternoon session the couple banked
8 Carp, the best around the 9lbs mark.
Brixham rod
Mike Gorman fished pellet on the bottom from peg 5 and was rewarded with 9 Carp
to 14lbs!
