With water
temperatures rising in the fine weather, fishing conditions were ideal at Town
Parks Fishery this week.
On the lower
Specimen Lake, Catfish showed in numbers after their long Winter sleep!
Torquay rod
Gordon Batt had a battle with a fine Cat which tipped the scales at 24lbs 2oz.
The fish fell
to maggots offered in the shallows of peg 6.

Plymouth rod
Steve Symonds chose peg 1 and fished Cell boilies placed close to the island.
Symonds
banked his first Catfish at 15lbs 4oz and also netted a good Carp of 19lbs 7oz,
a personal best!
Mark Warren
took two Cat’s, the best 19lbs 3oz which fell for maggot.
Marldon rod
John Connabeer fished overnight from peg 6 and banked three cracking Carp, all
good doubles with the best at 22lbs 10oz. All the fish fell to 10mm Cell
boilies offered midwater.
Olly Barnett
banked a 15lbs 4oz Common from the margins of peg 9.
Local rod Dan Wayne fished a Halo pop up from peg 10 at Town Parks Fishery and
was rewarded with this fine condition Common Carp of 14lbs 7oz. |
On the top
Match Lake some very good bags of Silvers were reported.
Two anglers
had nets in excess of 60lbs taken from the dam wall area. Carp also come to the
bank.
Norfolk
angler Jim Stevens fished corn from peg 1 tight to the margin reeds. Stevens
netted 8 Carp to double figures during his day session.
A party for
Paignton Community College enjoyed great sport during a tutored session
catching numerous Roach, Rudd and Perch. One lucky student hooked into, and
landed a Common Carp of 4lbs 2oz which fell to a small piece of sweetcorn
offered towards the main island.
