Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 9/12



Better weather conditions saw anglers enjoying good sport at Town Parks Fishery this week.
The Specimen Lake fished sporadically but some good fish came to the bank.

Returning after a long coarse fishing lay off Matt Skelly fished sweetcorn from peg 9 and was rewarded with a beautiful scaled Ghost Carp that tipped the scales at 21lbs 6oz.

Local rod Matt Skelly fished peg 10 at Town Parks Fishery after a long fishing lay off and was rewarded with this beautiful scaled Mirror Ghost Carp which tipped the scales at 21lbs 6oz. The fish which was in fine condition fell to sweetcorn offered mid water.

 Skelley’s fishing partner also banked a good mid double Carp during the day session. As Skelley’s fish was being released Geoff Weston’s alarms screamed off on the opposite bank. As Geoff’s fishing partner Roy Kennedy was closer to the rods he hit the fish and banked it, a 14lbs 8oz Mirror.

Jack Oakden fished his 10mt pole from peg 7 chasing good Roach. After lightly feeding the swim for a couple of hours Oakden started to hook fish. The following hour saw him take over 20 Roach, smallest around 1lb and the best a good 2lbs 5oz!!!

John Webster visited peg one and fished a white pop up midwater. Webster banked a fine condition Common of 16lbs 8oz! Double maggot offered on the bottom proving effective.

Regular Town Parks Fishery rod John Webster fished peg 1 in overcast conditions. Webster fished a white pop up mid water and was rewarded with this lovely condition Common Carp of 16lbs 8oz!

 On the upper Match Lake maggot or white pellet fished on, or near the bottom tempted the fish.

Roddy Metcalf fished white pellet or white artificial corn during several sessions on dam wall pegs and banked carp on every visit, best around the 8lbs mark.

Lee Holding fished his pole from peg 20 dropping double maggot on the bottom. Good Roach were taken throughout the day and several large Skimmers, and a couple of small Carp also came to the net later in the day.

Brian Toy visited peg 15 and took a couple of nice Carp near the island on pellet.

Brixham’s Three Elms fished pegs 10 to 20 during their Christmas match. Winner on the day was Andy Mudge with 18.6 kilos
