Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 30/12



The Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery provided excellent sport this week with many anglers banking fish. Some bigger fish were reported to have thrown the hook before coming to the net!

On peg 10 Mark Warren took two good Carp which fell for his Cell boilie offered above a white pop up mid water. Warrens best fish, a good Common of 19lbs 3oz.

Matty Feakes chose peg 16 and fished banana crunch boilies towards the central bar.
Feakes banked a nice Common followed by a Mirror of 16lbs 8oz.

Conor Nettleton fished peg 10 and banked two good Commons which fell to a Cell boilie offered mid water. Nettletons best was 18lbs 2oz he also lost a couple of fish.

Trevor Trebell also had a good session, his first for a while, banking two Carp from peg 2.

Town Parks Fishery regular Trevor Trebell fished a Cell boilie from peg 2 and banked this beautifully marked Fully Scaled Carp.
 
Nick Soloman fished from peg 12 in atrocious weather, a strong westerly blowing straight into the peg with heavy rain, but managed to bank two Carp from the margin.
With more unsettled weather forecast the Carp should continue to feed and hopefully some of the larger fish known to be in the lake will come to the bank!!

Charlie Leggett pole fished from peg 5 with a size 20 hook and single maggot. Leggett took a good bag of Roach cumulating with a fine fish of just under 2lbs!

Charlie Leggett fished his pole from peg 5 at Town Parks Fishery and amongst his good bag of Silvers was this excellent Roach of just under 2lbs! The fish fell to maggot offered on a size 20 hook.


The top Match Lake also saw anglers taking good mixed bags.

Carp were on and off the feed during most days although some anglers reported bags of 6 or more during a day session.

Once again Rod Metcalf banked good sized Carp during several sessions throughout the week. Most Carp fell to single sweetcorn offered from the dam wall.

Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 23/12



 With heavy rain a feature of the previous week the fish continued to feed hunting out any natural freebies washed in the inflow!

The Match Lake saw Carp and Silvers taking maggot and worm fished from most pegs.

Rod Metcalf continued his good run of Winter catches taking Silvers and Carp from various pegs in the deeper water.

Fred Rowe found a couple of Carp from peg 5 whilst visitor Chris Walters banked some good sized Bream from peg 14.

Sweetcorn tempted three Carp to 7lbs for local rod Ali Brown.

On the lower Specimen Lake John Stevens fished an overnighter from peg 14 offering a Cell boilie over a small pva bag of pellet. Stevens took two Commons of 14lbs 2oz and 21lbs 4oz which fell to the bait offered towards the central bar!

Mark Warren also connected with a couple of Carp, the best 17lbs 3oz which took a Cell boilie tipped off with a white pop up and offered mid water.

Some good Silvers have also been taken from deeper water pegs with several anglers reporting Roach to the 2lbs mark and Bream to 5lbs!

Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 16/12



Fish continued to come to the bank at Town Parks Fishery throughout the week.

The top Match Lake saw Carp and Silvers feeding freely at times.

Matt Kelly chose peg 1 for a short day session fishing halibut and coarse pellet towards the islands. Kelly was surprised, banking 8 Carp with the best at 12lbs 8oz!!

Lee Hunt fished for Silvers on the pole from peg 20 and took a good mixed bag of Roach, Bream and Carp. Hunt fished maggot and pellet around the 12mt mark close to the bottom.

Rod Metcalf had trouble finding the Carp from peg 16. Fan casting around the peg Metcalf did eventually bank some decent fish on white pellet.

Meanwhile the Specimen Lake fished a little harder than of late but some good fish did come to the net.

Once again John Connabeer found the fish from peg 10. Connabeer fished his favourite single white pop up mid water to bank 2 Carp of 16lbs 2oz and 11lbs 3oz!

Nick Evans fished a day session on peg 1 braving atrocious weather conditions at times.
Evans fished a tutti frutti boilie mid water and, after a couple of knocks, banked a lovely condition Mirror.

Local rod Nick Evans fished a Tutti Fruitti boilie mid water from peg 1 at Town Parks Fishery and was rewarded with this excellent condition Mirror Carp. 
 
Meanwhile Kevin Helmore fished maggot on the float for Roach from peg 3 and immediately caught and lost a good sized Carp. A little later Helmore’s float went under again and this time it was a bigger fish. Helmore was only fishing a 2lbs hooklink to 6lb mainline but after a considerable time playing the fish, a masterclass of angling to watch, Helmore netted a fine Mirror Carp of 13lbs 1oz!

Kevin Helmore chose peg 3 on the Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery to float fish for some Roach. Helmore hooked into something bigger that had taken his double maggot bait. After a prolonged battle this fine Mirror Carp of 13lbs 1oz. What made the catch amazing was that Helmore was fishing a 2lbs hooklink to 5lbs mainline!

 Conor Nettleton set up on peg 10 and within 10 minutes of casting out his alarm sounded and he had a good Mirror of 12lbs in the net! The fish fell to a tutti fruitti boilie fished mid water.

The Fishery is open every day throughout the Christmas period with stocks of maggot, castor and worm plus frozen bait available.
