Despite changeable weather conditions good sport was
enjoyed on both lakes at Town Parks Fishery this week.
The top Match Lake continued to produce medium to
large bags of Carp.
Visitor Reg Hamer visited peg 14 and fished pellet
close to the outlet. During his day session Hamer banked 15 Carp, the best a
fine 10lbs 4oz!
Rod Metcalf made several short visits to pegs along
the dam wall with bags of 15 to 20 Carp per visit. Pellet waggler or feeder
bomb’s cast between the islands proved effective.
Bream and Skimmers showed in numbers along pegs 1 to
6 with 60lbs+ bags reported.
On the Specimen Lake Mark Bielby fished a 24hr
session from peg 6 and was rewarded with no less than 15 fish! Several 20lbs
plus Carp fell for the squid boilies Bielby offered around the margins and
eventually a fine 27lbs 2oz Catfish also took his bait. Most fish were taken
overnight and in the early hours. Beilby also took a fine Tench which tipped
the scales at 10lbs 2oz!
Meanwhile, on peg 10 Cornwall rod Guy Radford also
enjoyed frantic sport banking 11 Carp and Catfish. Fishing various baits around
the swim Radford’s fish came to the bank throughout his visit!
Regular Gordon Batt made one of his regular visits
and was rewarded with a good Linear Carp and a small Catfish. Both fish were
taken from peg 2.
Town Parks Fishery regular Dave Grylls fished peg 14 for an overnighter and banked this fine Catfish. The fish fell to luncheon meat offered midwater. |
