Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 17/6

The Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery provided good sport for anglers this week.

Brixham rod Bob Hewitt fished a method feeder towards the main island from peg 2 with a single 7mm coarse pellet on the hair. Fishing a very light Match rod and 6lb line Hewitt hooked into a fine Catfish which, after a long battle tipped the scales at 21lbs 3oz!

Bob Hewitt had the shock of his life when his bait offered for small Carp was snatched by a 21lbs 8oz Catfish! The fish took a while to bank as Hewitt was fishing a 8 foot Match rod and very light line!

Lee Mills fished peg 15 for a 36 hour session and was rewarded with 8 Carp to 19lbs 8oz and a fine Bream of 8lbs 2oz!

Gordon Batt visited peg 1 fishing maggot close to the island. Batt banked four Carp the best a good Common of 21lbs 3oz.

Regular Gordon Batt fished peg 1 at Town Parks Fishery and was rewarded with this nice Common of 21lbs 8oz. The fish fell to sweetcorn offered in the margins.

Torquay rod Gordon Batt fished peg 7 at Town Parks Fishery with daughter Haley and banked this fine Common Carp of 19lbs 7oz. The fish fell to maggot offered in the margins.

Plenty of Catfish came to the bank with several anglers enjoying their first “tussle”.
Luncheon meat and worm proved most successful although large Halibut Pellet also attracted fish!

The top Match Lake continued to see very good bags of both Silvers and Carp.

Liverpool rod Brian Griffiths chose peg 15 and fished for Carp in the margins surrounding the outflow. Coarse pellet proved irresistible and Griffiths ended his day session with 42 Carp to the 8lbs 8oz mark!

A large group from 1st Torquay Guides fished an evening session in bright and sunny conditions. Fishing 4mt whips set shallow with maggot bait everybody took Roach and Rudd with several Guides taking multiple fish to the 1lbs 12oz mark.
