Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 24/6


Fish fed sporadically at Town Parks Fishery this week with some very nice fish coming to the bank when they were on the feed.

Local rod Mark Warren visited peg 16 and fished a Cell boilie tipped with a scopex pop up mid water. Warren soon hooked into a good fish and banked a lovely personal best Common Carp of 23lbs 15oz. Shortly after he had returned this fish the same rod screamed off and, after a long battle, Warren banked another superb Common of 25lbs 2oz – another personal best!

Visitor John Rogers chose peg 9 for a 24hr session. Rogers fished different baits on all three rods and was targeting the Catfish. By the end of his session Rogers had banked six Cat’s, the best a fine 37lbs 3oz which fell to luncheon meat offered in the margins.

Numerous Carp in the high teens came to the bank most falling for sweet baits, pineapple, tutti frutti, coconut etc.

Steve Wright and Kev Carter are continuing preparations for the forthcoming Fish-A-Thon, to be held at Town Parks, in aid of the Firefighters Charity. During the week long event Steve and Kev will attempt to catch a 1000lbs of fish! Daily updates will be available via the “Firefighters” link on www.townparks.net.

The event is scheduled to take place between Friday 27th July and Friday 3rd August. Sponsorship forms are held at Town Parks on site shop or you can donate online via the website.

On the upper Match Lake sport proved a little more constant with most anglers taking good to very good bags of Carp and Silvers.

Bream showed in numbers with anglers reporting fish to the 6lbs mark coming to the bank.

Carp fell to the pellet waggler especially along the dam wall pegs.

A large group of Torbay Carers attending a tutored day session fishing shallow on 4mt whips. Maggot proved most successful with everybody catching fish throughout the day.

Torbay Carers attended a tutored day of fishing at Town Parks Fishery. Everybody attending caught Roach and Rudd and enjoyed the fine sunny weather.

Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 17/6


The Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery provided good sport for anglers this week.

Brixham rod Bob Hewitt fished a method feeder towards the main island from peg 2 with a single 7mm coarse pellet on the hair. Fishing a very light Match rod and 6lb line Hewitt hooked into a fine Catfish which, after a long battle tipped the scales at 21lbs 3oz!

Bob Hewitt had the shock of his life when his bait offered for small Carp was snatched by a 21lbs 8oz Catfish! The fish took a while to bank as Hewitt was fishing a 8 foot Match rod and very light line!

Lee Mills fished peg 15 for a 36 hour session and was rewarded with 8 Carp to 19lbs 8oz and a fine Bream of 8lbs 2oz!

Gordon Batt visited peg 1 fishing maggot close to the island. Batt banked four Carp the best a good Common of 21lbs 3oz.

Regular Gordon Batt fished peg 1 at Town Parks Fishery and was rewarded with this nice Common of 21lbs 8oz. The fish fell to sweetcorn offered in the margins.

Torquay rod Gordon Batt fished peg 7 at Town Parks Fishery with daughter Haley and banked this fine Common Carp of 19lbs 7oz. The fish fell to maggot offered in the margins.
 
Plenty of Catfish came to the bank with several anglers enjoying their first “tussle”.
Luncheon meat and worm proved most successful although large Halibut Pellet also attracted fish!

The top Match Lake continued to see very good bags of both Silvers and Carp.

Liverpool rod Brian Griffiths chose peg 15 and fished for Carp in the margins surrounding the outflow. Coarse pellet proved irresistible and Griffiths ended his day session with 42 Carp to the 8lbs 8oz mark!

A large group from 1st Torquay Guides fished an evening session in bright and sunny conditions. Fishing 4mt whips set shallow with maggot bait everybody took Roach and Rudd with several Guides taking multiple fish to the 1lbs 12oz mark.

Town Parks Fishery is very pleased to announce that they are supporting and have been chosen as sponsors alongside Tesco and J D Wetherspoons of the forthcoming “Fish-A-Thon” in aid of the Firefighters Charity.

Town Parks are providing pegs and bait for the event in which two firefighters, Steve Wright and Kev Carter will attempt to catch a 1000lbs of fish over 5lbs during a continual week long fish!

The event is attracting national coverage and all the money raised will be donated to the Firefighters Charity.
