Continuing Summer like weather created testing conditions at Town Parks Fishery this week.
The top Match Lake saw anglers working hard to bank decent fish. Carp came on and off the feed with some anglers taking no fish for hours then connecting with ten to twelve fish over a couple of hours!
Coarse pellet fished up in the water worked well as did popped up bread on the bottom.
Dam wall pegs saw most of the action although peg 10 provided good sport from the back of the island.
Silvers are still up in the water falling to castor or maggot.
Bream took sweetcorn offered tight to the island in front of pegs 3 to 5.
On the Specimen Lake The Carp were very lethargic ignoring surface fished baits of biscuit or bread.
C C Moore XXX proved successful for Bob Ineson who took 4 fish to 22lbs 4oz from peg 10.
Bristol rod Bruce Jeffreys fished Cell boilies mid water from peg 7 and took two Mirrors of 22lbs 3oz and 19lbs 8oz.
Neil King fished overnight at peg 5 and took a fine Leather of 20lbs 7oz. The fish fell to a squid boilie offered in the bay behind the peg.
Some good sized Catfish have been taken feeding up ready for colder weather.
Four Cats to 24lbs 3oz fell to Hot n Spicy luncheon meat offered in the margins around peg 11 by Cornwall rod Neil Lane.
The Fishery’s next tuition morning takes place on Thursday 27th October during the Half Term week. The session runs from 9.00 am until 1.00 pm and includes tackle bait etc. If you are interested in taking part please contact the Fishery on 01803 523133.
