Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 02/10

Continuing hot sunny weather produced testing fishing conditions at Town Parks Fishery this week.

The Specimen Lake saw fish basking in the sun during the day with plenty of fish hugging the margins for shelter.

First time visitor James Fitzgerald fished coconut pop ups from peg 12 and was rewarded with 4 Carp, the best a nice Common of 17lbs 3oz.

Dave Osmond fished a quick session from peg 6 and banked a fine Common of 22lbs 6oz which fell to a Cell boilie.

Ashley Kelly fished an overnighter from peg 12 taking 3 Carp on luncheon meat.
Some good sized Carp took biscuit and bread on the surface during the day but bottom baits provided the sport during the night.

Catfish fell to luncheon meat offered in the margins.

Some anglers fished the Specimen Lake with light gear due to the Match Lake being full and had some fast and furious sport.

Regular Jack Oakden Fished the pole at 9mts with double castor and immediately connected with a 5lb Bream. During a four and a half hour morning session Oakden took and amazing 103lbs 2oz of Bream, his personal best with fish to 9lbs 2oz!

The Match Lake proved testing due to the high temperatures with fish only really feeding during early or late sessions when the temperature dropped.

Carp did come to the bank falling for pellet or surface fished baits.

Silvers took maggot or castor offered up in the water with some good bags taken from the more sheltered pegs.

With temperatures now dropping nearer to normal we expect the fish to return to normal feeding patterns with some large Carp and Catfish expected over the coming weeks!
