Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 24/4

An “eggcellent” week of catches was reported from both lakes at Town Parks Fishery this week!
The Fishery’s pegs were full for most of the time with anglers enjoying the warm sunny weather and great sport.
So many fish were banked it is impossible to mention everybody’s catches but some of the highlights follow!

The top Match Lake continued to produce very good bags for anglers prepared to work for them!
Carp came to the bank in numbers, 44 in four and a half hours for Rob Metcalf in peg 16!!!
Timing was important with early morning and late afternoon sessions producing the goods.
Roach and Rudd were in abundance whilst Ron Powell took over 50lb of Skimmers from peg 15.

On the lower Specimen Lake Chris Wilson fished peg 10 with great results. Ten Carp to 26lbs 8oz came to the bank, many of the fish falling to luncheon meat offered towards the islands or pop up boilies fished mid water.
Catfish were feeding well falling to halibut pellet or luncheon meat baits.
Match Lake angler Colin Parnell decided to fish his first session on the Specimen Lake and was rewarded with two Carp, a 17lbs 2oz Common and a 15lbs 3oz Mirror which came to the bank at the same time, one on each of Parnell’s rods!!

Match angler Colin Parnell visited the Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery for the first time and was rewarded with two Carp on the bank at the same time after both rods screamed off! The best fish a fine Common of 17lbs 2oz.

Meanwhile regular Matt Feakes took five fish including his personal best from peg 2.

Regular Matt Feakes banked five Carp including his personal best 23lbs 1oz at Town Parks Fishery. All fish fell to luncheon meat offered mid water from peg 2.

The recent good catches are expected to continue with no sign of the fish spawning yet although the water temperature is slowly creeping up.
