Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 17/4

Another week of great catches produced plenty of personal best’s at Town Parks Fishery.
The Specimen Lake saw multiple catches for anglers doing their watercraft.
Plenty of Catfish came to the bank, for many their first taste of the power of these fine specimens!
Most fish came to the bank on halibut pellet or baits tipped with sweetcorn!
Local rod Pete Marriot took six fish from peg 12, the best a fine personal best Mirror of 24lbs 1oz. All Marriot’s fish fell to spicy sweet boilies offered tight to the margins.
First time visitor Plymouth rod Carl Chappell chose peg 10 for a 24 hour session. During the night Chappell banked a fine PB 24lbs 8oz Mirror which fell to a squid and octopus pop up.
Newquay angler Chris Bothamley plumped for peg 7 for his first visit to the Fishery and was rewarded with a PB Mirror Carp of 24lbs 4oz and Commons of 19lbs 4oz and 18lbs 3oz.
Stoke Fleming anglers Jai and Emily Prettyjohns fished peg 10 in very hot conditions with Jai banking three Carp and a Catfish to 18lbs 2oz whilst Emily took her first Catfish of 17lbs 1oz.
Jai’s homemade fishmeal boilies proved effective.

Regular Mick Plastow again visited peg 4 and took a fine 9lbs 2oz Tench which fell to float fished red maggot!

Town Parks Fishery regular Mick Plastow banked this fine personal best 9lbs 2oz Tench whilst float fishing red maggot form peg 4 on the Specimen Lake

The Fishery’s Match Lake tuition days proved very popular with both sessions sold out!
Roach, Rudd and Carp continued to produce great sport for the juniors, most of whom were attending for their first visit.

Once again Rob Metcalf nipped in for a quick early session eventually ending up with 34 Carp to 7lbs in three and a half hours!! All fish fell to a carp splasher float fished shallow with coarse pellet continually fired out to the edge of the swim.
Carp have been taken in numbers from most pegs. During the sunnier days some have been taken on the surface with biscuit.
