Searing heat and sunny weather conditions produced very
testing fishing conditions at Town Parks Fishery this week.
On the Specimen Lake fish sunbathed in the sunshine but
seemed reluctant to feed consistently. Anglers had to use their watercraft and
change baits to attract takes!
Once again Lee Otridge was in the action banking his
personal best Catfish of 24lbs 8oz from peg 11.
Local rod Lee Otridge continued his recent run of fish at Town Parks Fishery taking this fine Catfish from peg 11 on the Specimen Lake. Te fish fell to a Cell boilie offered midwater! |
Fishing partner Scotty Bryant also had a Catfish of 19lbs
2oz and a brace of Carp to 14lbs 3oz! Homemade special boilies accounting for
all his fish!
Rob Boyne fished a day session from peg 14 using floating
baits and zig rigs. Boyne did well tempting a Catfish of 20bs 2oz and a fully
scaled Carp in the high doubles. A couple of Tench also came to the bank, the
best 8lbs 5oz!
Conor Nettleton fished from 6 and netted two Carp to 20lbs
4oz! Cell boilies fished under the overhanging trees did the trick!
On the top Match Lake sport was a little faster with Carp
and Silvers taking baits, mainly during the early morning and early evening
sessions.
Rod Metcalf fished a few short sessions banking up to 20
fish a time! Pellet offered up in the water and in the margins proved very
effective.
Visitor Phil Drury fished a day session from peg 1 and found
the Carp feeding heavily in the margins. Drury estimated he banked he banked
120lbs of fish during the day! Luncheon meat and hookable pellet accounted for
most of the fish.
With slightly cooler temperatures forecast the fish should
go a little deeper in the water and start feeding throughout the daytime.
