Following last week’s superb catches, Catfish remained very
active on the Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery this week.
This fine condition Common carp fell to a Cell boilie offered close to the main island from peg 1 at Town Parks Fishery. |
Peg 7 saw Lee Oatridge bank his personal best Catfish of
26lbs 8oz, a Leather of 18lbs 4oz and Linear Carp of 16lbs 8oz. The fish were
taken from the margins around the waterfall and took Banoffee boilies.
Dave Sumner fished from peg 6 and took a Cat of 22lbs 1oz on
Cell boilies.
Town Parks Fishery regular Lee Jones battled wet and windy weather conditions on peg 5 and was rewarded with his personal best Mirror Carp of 19lbs 7oz! |
Richard Evans from Lancashire enjoyed an evening session
from peg 14 targeting Catfish which he had never caught before. Evans was
overjoyed when his reel screamed off and, after enjoying playing the fish to
the net, he weighed a fine Cat of 19lbs 6oz!
Paignton rod Andy Handshaw continued his recent run of good
fish with a lovely condition Common Carp of 21lbs 2oz taken on a peaches and
cream boilie fished close to the main island from peg 2!
Regular John Webster fished a day from peg 6 and hit into a
large fish which seized his bait placed under the overhanging trees. After an
extended battle Webster had the fish in the net, a find Mirror! Under the
scales it read 26lbs 8oz and felt every ounce as Webster lifted it for the
mandatory picture!
After several successful sessions from peg 6 on the Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery local rod John Webster finally connected with his personal best Carp of 26lbs 8oz! |
Silvers were in abundance from most pegs with bags to to
90lbs mark reported.
A group of local Brownie leaders and helpers enjoyed a
tutored evening session and soon got into the swing of fishing. Some had never
fished but before long everyone had caught Roach, Perch and Rudd and one
unlucky lady lost a large Carp of around 5lbs at the net!
The Fishery would like to remind anglers that “Twilight
Tickets” commence at 16.00 hrs and are not available at any other times.
The Fishery would also ask anglers to report any line in the
water as a result of snapped off casts or fish breaks around the islands. Whilst
the Fishery takes every care removing lines left trailing it can be a danger to
fellow anglers, fish and wildlife.
Maintenance work
will soon be commencing around both lakes. Pegs will be repaired or rebuilt,
fencing will be replaced and the seating area outside the shop will be
completed.
Please accept the
Fishery’s apologies for any inconvenience caused during the works.
