96lbs Bream day session!
Bags of Bream and Carp
were the main quarry at Town Parks Fishery this week, and anglers were not
disappointed!
Town Parks regular Tim
Slim had a fantastic session fishing for Bream from peg 2 on the Specimen Lake
placing his bait on the central bar. During his sunny, settled day session Slim
netted 96lbs 4oz of fish and this did not include a couple of fish which
escaped from his keepnet as he tried to lift it from the water! Once again a small
feeder, short hooklink and double red maggot to a size 16 hook did the trick!
Plenty of Carp also hit
the bank.
Local rod John Connabeer
fished a couple of 24hr sessions from peg 12 placing his bait, a Passion fruit
boilie, tight in the margins. Connabeer netted three Carp during his first
session including a fine Leather of 22lbs 1oz and a Common of 21lbs 5oz! His
second session saw another 20+ Carp.
Regular Steve Wright was
overjoyed during a day on peg 3 when he landed his personal best Carp. The Mirror
fell to a Cell boilie offered close to the reeded island and it tipped the
scales at 24lbs 1oz! Wright also netted fish of 22lbs 3oz and 16lbs dead!
Trevor Trebell took two
fish overnight including a stunning Ghostie of 18lbs 2oz from peg 1 while Scott
Bryant took four fish to 17lbs from peg 14 which included a fine condition
Leather and a Linear!
Plymouth rod Richard
Jenkins took a nice Mirror of 15lbs 1oz from peg 10 and Dave Tozer made a quick
visit to peg 12 and took a nice Common of 17lbs 2oz!
On the upper Match Lake
sport was also pretty good.
Fred Rowe fished a day
in peg 1 and netted two Carp to 7lbs, after losing one, and plenty of Roach and
Rudd!
Several anglers reported
catches of Carp on pellet and also artificial sweetcorn! Silvers are still falling
to maggot and castor.
