Once again, the
changeable weather during the week saw anglers choosing sessions to coincide
with better days at Town Parks Fishery.
The Specimen Lake
continued to produce good fish for the time of year.
Matt Feakes made a
welcome return to the fishery after a short break and immediately had fish on
the bank! Feakes fished a pop up from peg 1 which was picked up by a good high
teens Common in beautiful condition.
Town Parks Fishery regular Matt Feakes returned after a
short lay off to bank this fine condition Common Carp from peg 1.

Fishing alongside Feakes
Town Parks regular Gordon Batt also connected with a good Leather Carp of 13lbs
9oz.
Peg 15 saw Scott Bryant
net four decent Carp. Bryants haul included a 16lbs 3oz Mirror, 16lbs 1oz
Leather and a nice Common which fell to 12mm Fusion boilies offered mid water.
With colder weather forecast
the fish should get their heads down to feed up ready for cold snap!
Bream have continued to
show on the Specimen Lake with some match anglers enjoying the sport and taking
medium to large bags of fish. Tactics vary but in the main use a small feeder
with a short hooklink and a size 16 hook with one or two dead red maggots for
bait.
The fish have tended to
shoal up around the main island so peg 1, 2, 9 and 10 have seen the best
catches!
Up on the top Match Lake,
anglers have been taking good bags of Roach and Rudd. Some have reported plenty
of Perch also on the feed at times.
Rod Metcalfe fished for
Silvers from peg 3 and took a good mixed bag of fish including some good sized
Perch.
Jon Haddon took some decent fish during a
couple of day sessions from sheltered pegs.
Once again Perch were
prominent with some nice Roach taking maggot!
