Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 19/5

Fish continued to come to the net at Town Parks Fishery this week. The Specimen Lake saw anglers enjoying the sport from most pegs.

Darren Baldwin enjoyed a great session from peg 15. Baldwin banked a good Leather Carp of 18lbs 3oz but shortly afterwards his alarms screamed off and after a long battle a large Catfish came to the net. Baldwins scales immediately “bottomed” out at 28lbs! After recasting his luncheon meat bait, the alarms screamed off again. This time Baldwin netted an even larger Cat, estimated in the 40lbs range!

Lee Mills had a good session from peg 2 fishing towards the main island. Mills banked five fish, the best a nice Common of 17lbs 14oz, all falling to sweetcorn.

Paul Winstanley netted his personal best Tench, a fine 8lbs 2oz and also his personal best Bream of 5lbs 8oz from peg 5! Winstanleys haul also included four Carp, the best a good Common of 17lbs 3oz, which fell for a Cell boilie as did all the other fish!

Torquay rod Paul Winstanley claimed two new personal best’s at Town Parks Fishery. Winstanley fished from peg 5 and banked this fine Tench of 8lbs 2oz and also took a PB Bream of 5lbs 8oz. Also taken were four Carp to 17lbs 3oz all falling to Cell boilies!

Scott Beer enjoyed his first session at the Fishery. Beer chose peg 2 and soon connected with his first ever Catfish which tipped the scales at a very respectable 20lbs 2oz.

Scott Beer fished luncheon meat from peg 2 at Town Parks Fishery and banked his very first Catfish. The fish tipped the scales at 20lbs 2oz!

Plenty of Catfish, too many to list individually, came to the bank mainly falling to worm, luncheon meat of halibut pellet!

Toby Harvey took two Cats to 15lbs as well as three Carp to 13lbs 3oz and a nice Tench of 6lbs 6oz all from peg 15.

On the top Match Lake, Carp continued to fall to pellet offered mid water.

Roddy Metcalf fished the dam wall on several occasions taking Carp on each visit up to 12 at a time.

Peg 14 saw several anglers reporting frantic sport near the outflow with up to 35 Carp taken during a single session!

Excellent nets of Silvers have been taken from most pegs. Bags to near 100lbs have been taken with the fish falling to maggot and castor offered up in the water.

Some nice Tench have taken various baits in the shallower pegs near the inflow.
