Carp and Catfish
continued to provide excellent sport at Town Parks Fishery again this week.
Some
fantastic battles were reported to get the fish to the bank with some unlucky
anglers loosing huge fish, especially Catfish, at the net! The Cats fed readily
taking a variety of baits offered in the margins and Carp, yet to spawn
continued to feed up ready for the fun!!!
Three good
Cats to 28lbs 14oz were banked during an evening session from peg 3 by Tris
Green with luncheon meat luring the fish!
Peg 7 has
seen plenty of action since the silt trap was dug out and the waterfall was
reinstated.
Having never
caught a fish at Town Parks Fishery during day sessions local rod Ian Connabeer
chose the peg for a 24hrs stint. Connabeer was rewarded with some eight fish
including Carp, Catfish and a nice Tench. Best of the bunch a cracking Carp of
20lbs 1oz!
Meanwhile on
peg 6 Ian’s son John banked three high teen Carp within an hour and a half of
arriving but despite banking one more Carp he was beaten by dad!
Larry Newman
also had a good session on 13 taking six fish on pineapple pop up’s, the best a
good Carp of 22lbs 8oz.
Suzie Young
banked a cracking Common from peg 1 which tipped the scales at 16lbs 1oz.
Suzie’s fish
fell to Cell boilie tipped off with a pineapple pop up.
Plymouth rod
Rick Jenkins fished overnight from peg 6 and banked a beautifully scaled Carp
of 21lbs 2oz and a good Cat of 21lbs dead! The Carp fell to a pink pop up
whilst the Cat took peperami!
Tyson Norton
had a frantic evening session fishing from peg 15. Norton banked five fish,
Cats and Carp, during very wet and windy weather, the best a fine Carp of 22lbs
10oz!
Tyson Norton fished an evening session from peg 16 at Town Parks Fishery during
wet and windy weather. Norton was rewarded with five fish, the best this lovely
condition Common of 22lbs 10oz! |
Some big
Bream to the 10lbs mark have also taken boilie baits intended for Carp!
Rod Metcalf
did an afternoon on peg 7 chasing the Silvers and took a huge bag of Roach and
Rudd which all fell to single maggot offered around the four foot mark!
On the top
Match Lake sport has also been good although the changeable weather conditions
determined whether the fish were on the feed or not.
Rod Metcalf
took good bags of Carp during several visits to the Dam wall.
Welsh rod
Gavin Stroud fished a day session from peg 1 and had an excellent bag of Carp
(11 fish) as well as some good sized Bream to the 4lbs mark!
