Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 2/9

Plenty of fish came to the scales during the week at Town Parks Fishery.

The lower Specimen Lake came on form with many anglers reporting fish taking various baits.

Bristol  angler Rod Jones fished an overnighter from peg 14 and was rewarded with 3 Catfish and two Carp. The Cats fell to luncheon meat offered mid water, the best a good 25lbs 7oz. Jones’s Carp took tutti frutti 10mm boilies fished in the margins as daylight broke. First on the mat was a good Linear of 22lbs 4oz and this was followed by a hard fighting Common of 25lbs 8oz!

Mainline Cell boilies helped regular Gordon Batt have one of his best sessions recently banking no less than 10 fish from peg 6. All the fish were over 15lbs and in immaculate condition. Best of the bunch a fine Fully Scaled Carp which tipped the scales at 22lbs 8oz.

Fishing partner, local rod Matt Feakes had similar hectic action banking 9 fish to 17lbs 2oz from peg 2.

Regular Tris Green float fished worm from peg 10 during a short evening session and took two very good Catfish of 26lbs 8oz and 27lbs 2oz!

Plymouth rod Tom Purdy had a good day session taking three Carp to 19lbs 8oz on homemade boilies.

On the upper Match Lake Silvers continued to show in numbers with some very large bags reported.

Carp were more sporadic but local rod Chris Walters connected with 25 to the 7lbs mark from peg 8.

Fishing pellet on a waggler near the inflow, which has been fast running due to the recent wet weather, Edwards lost numerous other Carp which fought hard in the conditions!

Rod Metcalf fished to the rear of the main island from peg 10 and banked twenty good Carp to the 10lbs mark! Pellet proved effective.

Another regular Pete Allen fished overnight on peg 10 taking 38 Carp to 9lbs 8oz on coarse pellet. A large number of Carp were “Ghosties”
