Fantastic sport was reported from both lakes at Town
Parks Fishery this week.
The Specimen Lake came alive with some superb fish
banked.
Peg 5 saw Jason Hammond fish an overnighter testing
a new bait being developed by a North Devon supplier. Hammond banked six fish
all reported to be in excellent condition with the best a fine Common which
tipped the scales at 26lbs 1oz.
Banana spice flavoured boilies offered towards the
central bar proved effective.

Dave Osmond continued his run of good catches with a
fine Mirror of 26lbs 2oz from peg 6.
Osmond followed this fish with a superb
specimen Tench some twenty minutes later. This Tench was one of the biggest
recorded at the Fishery at a whopping 10lbs 2oz!

Regular rod Mark Sturdy visited peg 12 and fished
the margins with red maggot.
Sturdy was rewarded with a fantastic run of six
Catfish to 30lbs 3oz and four Carp to 22lbs 4oz!
With the Specimen Lake full for much of the weekend
many multiple catches were reported with every angler taking fish!
On the top Match Lake sport was also very good
although the Carp fed sporadically at times.
Newton Abbot rod Richie Baker had a frantic start to
his day on peg 15 taking 11 Carp within the first two hours! Coarse pellet
offered near the small island responsible.
Many anglers reported spells especially early
morning and late afternoon when Carp fed freely and 10 to 15 fish coming to the
bank in quick succession only to be followed by little or no action for several
hours afterwards!
Bream came to the bank and were looking ready to
spawn with little or no slime and nodules appearing!
Roach and Rudd fed freely throughout the week with
bags to the 100lbs mark reported.
