Another week of good catches were reported from both lakes at Town Parks Fishery.
The top Match Lake continued to produce very good mixed bags as well as good catches of Carp.
Rod Metcalf fished peg 16 initially fishing for Carp on the bottom. After foul hooking fish on the retrieve Metcalf shallowed up to around the 2 foot mark. After a few casts without success Metcalf moved his bait to within 12 inches of the surface and immediately started to bank fish. 9 fish came to the bank in quick succession, the best around the 15lb mark!!
Clearly the fish were soaking up the sunshine!
Some good sized Bream have fallen to corn offered towards the main island from peg 3 whilst Roach and Rudd continue to take maggot and caster.
The lower Specimen Lake fished well with some very good fish coming to the scales.
Most pegs around the Lake are producing sport.
Dave Osmond continued to bank fish, his best this week a fine high twenty’s Linear Carp which fell to maggot offered near the blue rope area.
Dave Osmond continued to bank fish from peg 6 at Town Parks Fishery including this fine top twenty’s Linear. The fish fell to maggot offered in the margins near the blue rope. |
Phil Smith fished an overnighter from peg 2 and banked a chunky Common of 15lbs 3oz. The fish fell to pop up offered near the main island.
Local rod Phill Smith fished an overnighter form peg 2 at Town Parks Fishery and was rewarded with this chunky Common Carp of 15lbs 3oz. The fish fell to a Cell boilie tipped with pop up corn. |
Olly Barnett took a brace of Commons from peg 10 on Cell tipped with pop up corn. Best fish 17lbs 3oz.
Many anglers reported good runs with nothing on the line once struck. These are probably Catfish mouthing the bait but letting go once resistance is felt!
