The Catfish are on the prowl at Town Parks Fishery.
Mid Devon rod Scott Cooper had a screaming run during the early hours which resulted with him banking a nice 23lbs 8oz specimen. Luncheon meat offered midwater from peg 2 lured the Cat. Cooper also took a Common Carp whilst his son had a bag of over a hundred Silvers which fell to maggot offered shallow.
Alan Morton fished peg 16 offering Mainstream Grange midwater. Morton banked two Common’s, the best a fine 21lbs 7oz!
Regular John Webster fished from peg 5 on his day visit and was rewarded with a beautiful fully scaled Mirror of 17lbs 9oz. Dead maggot on a medusa rig fished tight to the island in front of the island did the trick!
Simon Jones roamed various pegs during a very warm and dry day and was rewarded with three Carp, the best a fine 22lbs 5oz. All Jones’s fish fell to pellet tipped with popup corn offered up in the water.
Local rod Scott Farrar reported banking a superb Bream of 10lbs. The fish took a 22mm boilie which Farrar was using to tempt Carp!
Town Parks Regular Dave Osmond visited his favourite peg 6 and hooked into this fine 21lbs 9oz Leather Carp. The fish fell to maggot offered near the blue rope. |
On the top Match Lake sport proved hectic with some excellent bags of Carp and Silvers.
Jeff Hughes took 11 Carp from peg 10 in a 2 hour session. Most fish fell to pellet offered tight to the back of the main island although some did venture into open water!
Silver sport was excellent with several anglers reporting 40lbs+ bags with fish coming to maggot and caster.
With the unseasonably warm weather Carp were seen basking on the surface and feeding freely.
With the warm weather forecast to continue sport will only get better over the coming weeks!
