Excellent catches have been reported from Town Parks Fishery this week.
The Specimen Lake has been on particularly good form with plenty of Carp coming to the bank.
Plymouth rod Tom Purdy continued his run of catches with an excellent session banking 7 Carp, the best a fine personal best Mirror of 25lbs 8oz. Purdy banked a beautiful fully scaled Mirror from peg 1 early in his session but he decided to immediately move to peg 3 much to the surprise of other anglers. During the rest of his session he was in the thick of the action. Purdy’s PB came from the bar just to the left of the main island and, like the rest of his catch fell to two 10mm Cell boilies popped up.
Regular Bob Ineson fished an overnighter from peg 1 and concentrated his baits near the main island. Ineson was rewarded with three fish, the best a Mirror of 19lbs 8oz which fell to a white chocolate pop up.
Local rod Steve Jones banked a good Common from peg 10. Jones fished a coconut pop up tight to the main bar which the fish fell for. Jones also lost another good sized Mirror at the net!!
Local rod Steve Jones banked this fine Common Carp within minutes of setting up on peg 10 at Town Parks Fishery. The fish fell to a coconut pop up offered tight to the central bar. |
The top Match Lake has also fished well with good mixed bags of Silvers reported along with some nice Carp coming to the bank.
Pupils from Paignton College attended a tutored session and, along with some nice Roach, two pupils caught and banked Carp at 3lbs 8oz and 4lbs 2oz on 4 metre whips and maggot bait on a size 16 hook!!
