Unusually warm temperatures saw anglers making the best of the conditions at Town Parks Fishery over the festive period.
Both lakes produced good sport with fish going on and off the feed.
The lower Specimen Lake saw local rod Callum Rosendale fish a hectic overnight session. Within the first 20 minutes Rosendale banked his first fish, a nice mirror of 15lbs 7oz which fell to a chocolate boilie offered mid water. During the rest of his session another five Carp were banked and another two lost at the net!
Rosendale offered baits in various positions in the swim but most fish came form the overhanging tree to the right of the main island.
Plymouth rod Dave Williams visited peg 14 for a day session and took a personal best Common of 20lbs 2oz. The fish fell to a squid boilie fished tight to the margins.
Williams lost another good fish in the mid twenty’s just as he went to net it!
Many anglers reported liners and runs but as soon as the fish felt any resistance the hook was thrown!
The top Match Lake also provided good sport with Carp taking baits from many pegs.
Robbie Metcalf moved around various pegs during several short visits and found Carp coming to pellet.
Eight Carp, the best around the 7lbs mark fell to Chris Sullivan who stalked around the lake looking for signs of feeding. The reeded area between pegs 1 and 20 and also between 14 and 15 proved to be the main area where fish were feeding.
The Fishery wishes all its customers both old and new a Happy New Year!
