Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 9/1

Much improved fishing conditions greeted anglers at Town Parks Fishery this week.

After the long freeze the fish really came back on the feed on both lakes. On the top Match Lake some huge Skimmers and Bream came to the bank. Pete Bryant visited peg 3 and took a bag of good Bream as well as Roach in numbers. Maggot and sweet corn offered on the bottom proved successful.
Lee Harding fished peg 16 towards the small island and also took multiple large Skimmers and Bream on triple maggot offered on a size 22 hook! Neil Butcher returned to the bank for the first time after a long illness and banked a beautiful 8lbs 9oz Common Carp. Fishing the margin to the right of peg three, Butcher offered a 7mm coarse pellet to tempt the fish.

On the lower Specimen Lake plenty of liners and runs kept the anglers busy.
James Hubble fished into the wind on peg 10 and banked a fine 19lbs 8oz Mirror. The fish was unusually light grey in colour and beautifully scaled. Mainline cell boilies, poped up and offered midwater tempted the fish.

Peter Marriot fished peg 14 with and squid pop up and banked a nice 13lbs 8oz mirror.
The water temperature is now around 10 degrees and, with the water colouring up nicely the fish are clearly moving around more freely!

Due to frozen lakes in December the charity matches in aid of Devon Air Ambulance had to be cancelled. These matches have now been rebooked and the Specimen Lake match will take place on Sunday 23rd January whilst the top lake Match will take place on the following Sunday 30th January.

Both matches have 07.45 a.m. draws with fishing from 08.15 until lines out at 16.00 hrs.

Cash and tackle prizes are up for grabs so be quick to book your peg on 01803 523133 or call into the onsite shop to support this worthy charity.
