Good catches were reported from both lakes at Town
Parks Fishery this week.
The lower Specimen Lake continued to produce Catfish
in numbers with some fine fish banked. Matt Green fished overnight from peg 10
and took several Cat’s, the best 23lbs 4oz which fell for luncheon meat.
Exeter Rod Dan Butterworth also took several Catfish
which provided some excellent sport!
Carp came on and off the feed looking like they were
readying themselves for spawning although as the cooler weather came in the
fish returned to normal feed patterns.
Some Carp fell for dog biscuit floated on the
surface during the day with Roger Black banking a fine Mirror of 21lbs 4oz.
Other Carp chose to feed on the bottom during the
early morning or early evening with many fish banked during these times!
The top Match Lake saw large bags of Silvers and
Carp coming to the net.
Rod Metcalf got the Carp feeding well on coarse
pellet and banked 100lbs plus bags on several occasions.
The Fish-A-Thon in aid of the Firemans Benevolent
Fund finished on Friday following a week of continuous fishing by Firemen Steve
Wright and Kevin Carter.
The pair banked fish throughout the week alternating
between the Specimen and Match Lakes to provide some variety.
Final weights will follow but the pair did bank
100’s of pounds worth of fish.
Hundreds of pounds of donated money has been raised
with the final figure still awaited!
Steve and Kevin are already busy organising next
years challenge which will hopefully see an inter emergency services match
raising funds for their respective benevolent funds!
