Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 29/4

Another busy week at Town Parks Fishery resulted in plenty of action as the fish continued to feed well. Catfish came to the bank in numbers with a few lucky anglers banking their first or personal best fish!

Cornwall rod Simon Benson fished an exciting session from peg 5 taking five fish including a good 24lbs 8oz Catfish and a 22lb 2oz Mirror. The fish were taken mid water on worm!

Mark Haslam banked his personal best Catfish of 14lbs 1oz which took a XL 30mm multi flavoured boilie fished mid water from peg 11.

Jeff Weller took two Carp overnight from peg 2 including a stunning Fully Scaled Carp.

River Trent rod John Evans fished his first session on the Specimen Lake in atrocious weather conditions and banked his personal best Carp. The fish was one of several taken from peg 2 fishing alongside Mark Groft who was showing Evans the ropes!

River Severn rod John Evans decided to try his hand on the Specimen Lake at Town Parks Fishery for the first time and was rewarded with this fine personal best Carp.

Exeter rod Ron Bourne showed his sons how to do it by taking two good Mirrors of 16lbs although son Pete banked a fine Common of 19lbs 1oz whilst Steve Bourne took a beautiful Leather of 18lbs 2oz.

Halibut pellet and day glow pop up’s proved successful.

Regular visitor Scott Farrar visited peg 1 and Town Parks Fishery and banked this very pretty Carp which was taken from the side of the main island.

On the top Match Lake excellent bags of Silvers and Carp were reported.

Bob Hewitt fished a short session from peg 1 taking three Carp to 9lbs on pellet. After Hewitt left the peg regular Rod Metcalf took over and during a three hour session he banked 19 Carp!

The Carp were feeding deeper than of late probably due to the amount of cooler fresh water that has entered the Lake during the unusually wet period!

Silvers were up in the water earlier in the week and a group of Brownies enjoyed a tutored session with everyone taking fish - some fish approaching the 2lbs mark!

Bream showed along the dam wall falling to corn and coarse pellet.

Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 22/4

Good sport was reported on both Lakes at Town Parks Fishery this week.

The lower Specimen Lake continued to produce fish from most pegs.

Matt Feakes made another visit to the Fishery this time choosing peg 2. Fishing with some old frozen boilies given to him by a neighbour, Feakes took 9 fish altogether including a 21lbs 2oz Common, 20lbs 3oz Mirror and Catfish to 19lbs 4oz.
Unfortunately for Feakes, his neighbour cannot remember what was in the boilies so this could be his last good session for a while!

Plymouth rod Tom Purdy banked several Carp whilst fishing from peg 1 at Town Parks Fishery and was surprised to hook this fine Tench of 7lbs 4oz with boilie bait.
Visitor Carl Rose fished peg 10 and did well banking a 20lb 1oz Mirror, a 16lbs 8oz Common and a Cat of 18lbs 0oz. Cell boilies and luncheon meat accounted for the catches.

Catfish have continued to frustrate some anglers mouthing and moving the baits but letting go the minute they felt any pressure!

Tench to the 9lbs mark have been taken many falling to boilies offered for the Carp.

Local Coastguard Jai Prettyjohns banked this beautiful Fully Scaled Carp from peg 10 at Town Parks Fishery. The fish fell to a homemade boilie offered in the margin.
On the top Match Lake Arron Warner fished a 24hr session banking 19 Carp to 11lbs from peg 10.

Bream have been showing in numbers along pegs 1 to 6 falling to sweetcorn or small pellet. Roach and Rudd continued to fall for maggot and castor with bags to the 80lb mark recorded.
