Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 3/10

Heavy rain helped to refresh the lakes at Town Parks Fishery this week.

The sudden impact of so much fresh water reduced the feeding at times.
Around the inflows to both lakes fish could be seen feeding in the churned up water.
On the lower Specimen Lake Gordon Batt fished a very wet session from peg 6. Fishing towards the inflow he banked two nice Common Carp, a fine 22lbs 8oz and another of 17lbs 4oz.
Mainline Cell boilies proved effective.

Barnstaple rod Liam Keen fished a day session from peg 14 using red hot chilli pop up’s.
After many liners and two missed runs Keen banked a Catfish of 18lbs 5oz followed by a lovely condition Common Carp which tipped out at 17lbs 9oz.

Several pleasure anglers decided to fish the Specimen Lake for a change and had some great fishing.
Plenty of large Roach and Bream came to the bank along with two fine Tench of 4lbs 4oz and 6lbs 5oz.

On the top Match Lake medium mixed bags were the order of the day.
Pegs 1 to 6 continued to produce good sport with Carp coming from tight to the island and Bream and Skimmers from mid water close to the bottom.

Carp were taken from the usual pegs but the dam wall proved to be patchy with some pegs seeing 10 to 15 Carp per session whilst others blanked!

The fish are a little deeper in the water now due to the drop in temperature.
It is worth trying different baits to get the fish on the feed.
