Cooler unsettled weather
produced testing angling conditions at Town Parks Fishery this week.
The Match Lake saw anglers
braving wet and windy conditions although the fish still continued to feed.
Town Parks regular Conor
Nettleton banked 29 Carp from various pegs during a day session! The fish fell
to pellet and Cell boilies offered both in the margins and out in deeper water.
Bream were taken from most
pegs with some anglers reporting 30 to 40lbs per session.
Silvers are still taking
maggot although they have been feeding a little deeper than of late as the
water temperature has dropped slightly – that said, the water is still around
the 12.5 degree mark which is good for this time of year!
The Specimen Lake continues
to produce good fish to those anglers doing their water craft!
One unnamed Grandfather
fished with his grandson from 7 and 8 and was determined to catch anything but
a Catfish. The gentleman had made his own boilies and flavoured them with plum
and pineapple which he believed would only attract Carp! During the early hours
his reel screamed off and, after a very extended battle a fine Catfish of 33lbs
2oz was on the bank!!!
Gordon Batt and Matty
Feakes fished from pegs 1 and 16 and both enjoyed good sport.
Feakes took three Carp
including a beautifully coloured Common of 16lbs 2oz.
Batt netted three fish
including a lovely Fully Scaled Carp – one of the nicest he had seen.
Unfortunately Batt’s camera
refused to reproduce any of the many pictures taken of the catches when he
tried to download them!!!!
Cornwall rod Richard
Simmonds fished overnight from peg 11 and netted five fish including three
Catfish to 22lbs 3oz and two Carp of 19lbs 6oz and a fine Common of 23lbs 8oz! The
Cats fell to luncheon meat offered mid water whilst the Carp took Cell boilies.
Plenty of Carp in the mid
to high teens came to the bank, too many to list individually and smaller Cats
to the same size produced some great sport for anglers!!
