Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 14/11

Colder weather, producing cooler water temperatures produced testing fishing conditions at Town Parks Fishery this week.

The top Match Lake continued to produce medium bags of both Carp and Silvers for anglers selecting the right pegs.

The dam wall saw Rob Metcalf bank numerous carp to high single figures but he had to work hard for the bites!

Over the weekend the weather improved and anglers reported plenty of Silvers feeding around the 4 feet deep mark. Maggot and castor proved effective.

The lower Specimen Lake provided plenty of sport with many anglers experiencing good runs only to have the fish throw the bait!

Cornwall rod Bruce Julian fished throughout atrocious weather and banked two Commons fishing mainline cell boilies from peg 1.

Gordon Batt had a cracking run at 4.30 am within 5 minutes of setting his zig rig to three feet under the surface. After a battle in which he thought his rod would break the huge fish, probably a big Catfish snapped his hook in half and swam off!!

With the water temperature around the 12 degree mark the Cat’s are still active and should remain so until the temperature drops to single figures!

There are a few pegs left for the Fishery’s Charity Matches in aid of Devon Air Ambulance.

The Coarse match (all fish count) on the top lake is on Sunday 5th December and the Specimen match (Carp and Catfish) on the lower lake is the following week on Sunday 12th December.

Both matches have 07.45 draws with fishing from 08.15 until 16.30 hrs.
Cash and tackle prizes are up for grabs so contact the fishery on 01803 523133 to book your peg!

Don’t forget the Fishery draw tickets are also on sale with numerous prizes up for grabs!
